Ellis O’Connor | Feature Show
Ellis O’Connor is a contemporary Scottish visual artist whose practice is deeply rooted in the wild and remote landscapes of the North. Known for her powerful and atmospheric works, O’Connor explores themes of nature, isolation, and the sublime, often drawing inspiration from Scotland’s rugged coastlines and dramatic weather patterns.
A graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design in Dundee, Ellis has gone on to establish herself as a distinctive voice in the Scottish art scene, exhibiting widely across the UK and internationally. Her work is recognised for its bold mark-making, layered textures, and the emotional resonance it captures from the natural world.
For this exhibition at Eduardo Alessandro Studios in Broughty Ferry, Ellis presents a new collection of 12 original pieces. Each work reflects her ongoing dialogue with the land and sea, offering viewers a chance to immerse themselves in her raw and evocative interpretation of place.
Returning to Dundee—the city where she studied and developed her practice—this exhibition marks a significant moment in O’Connor’s journey, showcasing the latest evolution of her work in a setting connected to her artistic roots.
