Amanda Phillips | Coastal Exhibition
Long awaited works by Amanda Phillips unveiled in her solo feature exhibition this September. This series of works feature ‘Coastal’ scenes in Amandas signature abstract form, each piece depicting a landscape of varied viewpoints depending upon each individuals interpretation. Amanda notes, “The viewer comes along and attaches their own response and interpretation, just like a poem”
This exhibition is a harmony between the dark dramatic skies that often form over the coast as well as the tranquil stillness of the sea and its calming colour pallet. Each piece vastly different to the next, differing in medium, painting technique and tone.
The artist often references architectural form, paying homage to her career as a chartered architect. This makes for exciting and varying skylines in many of her works as well as the introduction of many unorthodox materials within her pieces, including graph paper, grid lines and her signature tartan tape.
As a gallery we are incredibly excited by Amanda’s work and her sell out showcase with our gallery back in 2023 has made her one of the most in demand artist we’ve had the pleasure of working with in the last year.
“I love to take risks as it keeps me excited about what I’m doing and hopefully that comes across and excites the viewer too.” – Amanda Phillips
