Aleksander Buzilov

A Bulgarian artist who fell in love with Dundee while working on a Tayside farm, Aleksander has created paintings which honour the city and the surrounding area. Putting paint to canvas to depict scenes from Arbroath, and some very recognisable to those local to Broughty Ferry, he has felt a spark of inspiration from his new surroundings.

He works predominantly in oils but likes to experiment with a variety of materials. Having previously studied various aspects of Art and Design at the National School of Art in his native Bulgaria, before relocating to Scotland in 2019. Aleks shares his paintings, as well as works in progress, on his social platforms.

He has felt connected with painting from a young age after growing up in an artistic family and continues to grow as a professional artist:
