Barbara Franc

Barbara attended Morley College of Art in the late 70s where she studied Life drawing under Maggie Hambling and John Bellany. In the late 80’s she attended Richmond College to study Sculpture under Avril Vellacott, but the most influential of her mentors was Mary Orrom, an inspired and inspiring sculptor.

The artist has always been fascinated by the shapes and sculptural forms of animals. She captures a feeling of their movement and presence in her work. Barbara increasingly uses recycled and discarded materials as she enjoys the challenge of transforming something with a past history into something new and exciting.
