Derek Collins is a unique artist based in Dunblane, Scotland. He is well known for his very own ‘flaming art’, creating fiery canvas pieces with a personal touch.

“My art is an extension of the work I have been doing as a special effects painter for over forty years. I utilise powder pigments and lacquer on canvas adding thinners before setting the canvas on fire! This gives a dramatic and unique surface before I add resin to give a texture that you just want to touch. As far as I know I am the only person using this unique technique.”
