John Bell

Born in 1972 in Broughty Ferry and educated at Grove Academy, John studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art (1989-93) and now lives in rural Perthshire.
John is often drawn to subjects that have elements of age and a past life.

His dynamic landscapes perfectly characterise the glorious isolation of many of his favoured Scottish locations. His technique marries traditional and contemporary styles, contrasting finely detailed observation against simplified backdrops to capture the stillness and mood of his subjects.
