Philip Raskin

Philip Raskin is as popular a painter as he is a man, and his engaging personality and effortless charm, together with his undoubted talent has made him one of the best known and most popular artists in Scotland. Having had the pleasure of knowing Philip over many years, we are privileged to host this exhibition of his latest works inspired by his passion for the dramatic light and ever changing moods of the Scottish landscape.

One of Scotland’s pre-eminent contemporary land and seascape artists, Philip initially trained at the Glasgow School of Art before following a career as the proprietor of the celebrated restaurant and jazz venue, The Inn On The Green in Glasgow.
Since returning to painting, Philip has established himself as a popular artist and firm favourite with a number of well known galleries. Working with acrylic paint, his highly recognisable style of painting combines to stunning effect heavy impasto technique and a fluidity more commonly associated with watercolour. Evocative and haunting in its beauty, Philip’s work is collected worldwide. He is the father of BBC broadcaster Natasha Raskin Sharp.
