Sheila Fowler

Sheila Fowler studied at Glasgow School of Art from 2003 – 2006 launching her career as a professional artist in 2007.

Sheila has had a lifelong passion for drawing and painting. Her style of painting is contemporary and she depicts landscape and studio still life using vibrant colours and bold texture. Her landscape paintings are full of colour and light. Scenes are depicted with an emphasis on realism and attention to detail combined with more abstract brush strokes; Still life and floral pieces are bold and yet carefully composed.

Her work was featured on the BBC One Show Summer Exhibition in 2009 and she has paintings hanging in the Scottish Parliament Building. She enjoys depicting the Scottish landscape and regularly travels to the west coast islands to gather subject material.

“It is an artist’s dream to live near the islands of the west coast of Scotland. I love to visit the Hebridean Islands where beaches are nothing short of spectacular. The colours are amazing and I try to capture the beauty in my paintings, using a vivid palette and texture.”

Interest in her work is growing and Sheila now exhibits work in a range of highly regarded Scottish Art Galleries. Her colourful and carefully crafted scenes are popular and her work has been collected by private clients and for corporate displays.
