Born in 1942 in Edinburgh, the son of the renowned Scottish Italian painter Alberto Morrocco, Leon studied at Dundee, Slade and Edinburgh Colleges of Art.

Drawn by his strong affinity with his Italian background, Leon displays a superb flair for colour and often a hint of humour, as he captures the character of the old Mediterranean ports and landscapes, and the relaxed style of its people.
